Hi to all of you who currently are or wishing to be in Paleochora! I myself have to wait for a little more than a month before I can get there with my family (and my best friend, who decided she has to come and see this town she has heard so much good of). It will be my tenth time in Greece and fourth time in Paleochora. Some people ask me why I never go visit any other places, but why would I spend my time in anywhere else now that I've found this PARADISE?
Hope you all are well! Can't wait to get there!

Hi there. I know exactly what you mean about other peoples confusion over why we continue to return - every year since 1980. My first visit to Paleochora was in 1983 and it was that town that taught me the meaning of, 'slow'.
I'll never forget some guy from the US saying, "My God! What do you DO for three weeks in Crete?" I told him, "Nothing."
I have even started a website called grecofilia which tries to describe this feeling for Greece and Crete in particular. I seem to be obsessed with all things Hellenic. I think I must have lived here in some previous life. But it's a long time till September.
