About Me
Hi,
I was first introduced to Crete in only 2004 by my dad who has been going religiously for the past 25 years. It was our first trip abroad together as we had only just met for the first time that year so that added to the whole magic of it all! We have visited at least once a year since and like to walk the coastal path following mainly the E4 route and then cool down at night with a few bottles of retsina. I have not yet done the section between Ag Roumeli and Sougia and it looks a bit tough for my wee legs but my dad is practically a mountain goat and quite frankly thinks it's all just a stroll in the park.
We spent 6 weeks in and around Paleochora, just camping and walking in 2005 and it really sealed it for me then that I had found I place I love equally as much as my hometown of Glasgow. Living and working in Cheshire so now have 2 places to get homesick about.
I just hope that Paleochora does not lose its charm to tourism and become overwhelmed. I was concerned to see banks popping up recently which is a sure sign that things are going to change.
Of course got the annual trip planned this year in September but the biggie is next year when we plan to drive all the way in a campervan! Can't wait.
